Mad as a March Hare or Hatter? English Drama Group

Dear theatre enthusiasts,

On 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 February, 2014 at 8 p.m. the English Drama Group invites you to come and see their new production The Ordinary Madness: A Three Act Trip Into Your Unconscious in Bielefeld University's AudiMin. Admission is free.

What does it mean to be (not) completely sane? Where do you draw the line between mental instability and sheer madness? Does such a line even exist? The English Drama Group will be diving deep into the psyche of man to explore the abyss inside human beings. In the three one-act plays That’s The Spirit! by Stefan Fabrizio Geisler (première), Suddenly, Last Summer by Tennessee Williams, and God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza, mental instability takes its course.

The audience is provided an opportunity to delve into the consciousness of peculiarly distressing characters: an odd storyteller who, for no apparent reason, throws away his recently acquired fortune to return to his former marginal and isolated existence; a seemingly mad woman who tells about the fall of an arrogant egomaniac; a memorable double date between two refined couples that, because of an insignificant incident, goes wrong in all possible ways.

Topsy-turvy worlds tumble traumatic narratives and darkly comical everyday occurrences – yet each play raises the same question: aren’t we all a little mad?

We are looking forward to seeing you there

And at Stammtisch. Every Friday at Queer's from 8 in the evening.

Be seeing you
